Chris Rocks his Senior Pictures

Christ made this backgroundI was excited to have the opportunity to photograph Chris’s senior pictures. We started out with some easy going pics of him in a T-shirt, something casual to get the senior picture session started. He had brought a painting he had made using spray paint on cardboard, so we dropped that in as his background. Yes, Chris painted that background himself. Very cool.

Flaming drum sticksChris played drums in the school band, so of course we had to do something with that. Flaming drum sticks anyone? Yes, we really did set them on fire.

Senior pictures by Foster Photographic ArtsChris plays bass in Jazz Band, so we had to include that in his senior pictures. Just a few pics of him playing, then we brought out the fog for a “performance” look and finished it off with a silhouette. Rock star!

Adrian’s Awesome Senior Pictures

Adrian came in early to talk about her senior pictures. That’s always a great idea. We got a chance to talk about her interests and that created some ideas in my mind. The most novel idea was the “floating pictures”. Adrian likes photography, and has some nice macro work in her portfolio. Athletes are always easy to portray – just use some sports equipment. Artists and photographers are harder. I wanted to create something where her images floated around her. I photographed her against my green screen and removed the background and the floor. She sent me some of her images and I blended those into a computer generated scene. The results are really cool.

Another thing I have been doing more of in my senior picture sessions is a “glamor” look. Using very specific lighting and props to create a very glamorous, mysterious image. Just because they are senior pictures doesn’t mean they have to be boring. The results were great. Thanks for coming by for your senior pictures, Adrian.

Sami’s Safari Senior Picture Session

Sami did our Safari session. What is a Safari Senior Picture Session? First we start in the studio, then we go outside, then go wandering through streets and alleys looking for unusual and different. The end result is a lot of fun and a lot of great senior pictures.

The outdoor part of our session featured our “tall grass” scene outside. We’ve been getting great results with this. The studio part of our session had a real nice full length picture of Sami in her dress and some very fun pictures of her wearing a “Sponge Bob” shirt against a bright background. The best part of the studio was the Nepal images. Sami moved from Nepal five years ago. She brought in a traditional Nepal outfit – and I photographed her against a plain background that I would later drop out and replace with stock photos from her native country. The results were awesome!

After the studio, we went to downtown Norman and found some great alleys and storefronts. The results are fantastic senior pictures! Thanks Sami. It was a blast!

Brittany’s Beautiful Senior Pictures

I actually have photographed Brittany and her family several times. It’s always fun working with someone you know; and Brittany and I had a blast doing her senior pictures.

She was one of the first to try out my new “rock star” set. I turned on the lights and rolled out the fog and I told her to act like she was at a rock concert. She made the rest happen.

Brittany was also one of the first to do my new “tall grass” outdoor scene. I’ve always liked the look of sitting in a field of tall grass, so I designed my own scene in my back yard.

Thanks for coming by for your senior pictures, Brittany.

Collin’s Rockin’ senior pictures

Collin came in for his senior pictures like a lot of guys do – hesitant and not really sure about this whole picture thing. But we got to talking and he relaxed and he had a good time. His senior pictures came out great and he and his mom loved them.

My favorite image is the third one. Collin had his guitar out and I’m thinking I have the perfect creation for this. The image was taken in my studio. The bridge is about 200 miles away over the Red River. You gotta love digital.

Collin will graduate from Noble High school. Congratulations Collin.

Clayton Blosser

Clayton is a multi-talented guy.  He plays cello, he is an Eagle Scout and has restored a VW Thing that was put out to pasture.  He was a little unsure about the whole picture thing when we started, but he got to talking and he relaxed and we had a great session.  It was a lot of fun and he and his mother really like the images.
